E-Medina 2 – Updated ARF 2-Meter F5-RES Electric Glider (see Medina page for the pure glider version)
Many of us want to enjoy the excitement of F5-RES competitions or relax with a high-performance 2-meter electric glider for sport flying—but in today’s busy world, who really has the time to spend countless evenings building a balsa kit from scratch? We hear you. That’s exactly why we created the E-Medina 2—a modern, updated take on our best-selling ARF glider.
The E-Medina 2 is an almost ready-to-fly (ARF) electric glider designed for F5-RES and F5L competition formats, featuring fully pre-built and covered surfaces. With minimal assembly required, you can get from unboxing to maiden flight in record time. Just glue the carbon boom into the nose, insert the reinforced carbon tail pins into the pre-drilled holes, mount your servos, and run the pull-string wires.
This second-generation version brings several structural and design improvements:
-
Reinforced carbon boom for greater torsional strength
-
Thicker, stronger V-tail pins for better durability and reliability
-
Redesigned V-tail surfaces with improved stiffness and flight control
-
More elegant wing-to-fuselage transition for enhanced aerodynamics
-
New, eye-catching color schemes to stand out on the field and in the sky
Developed in collaboration with Performance Models Australia, the E-Medina 2 uses purpose-designed MS-series airfoils specifically optimized for the flight envelope of modern F3/F5-RES competition. The advanced tip design improves handling at varying angles of attack, minimizing tip stalls and enhancing tight, efficient thermal turns—ideal for low-level lift.
The removable V-tail offers precise control, excellent low-speed behavior for thermaling and landing, and contributes to the aircraft’s overall low drag profile for improved performance across the entire flight envelope.
The minimalistic fuselage cleanly integrates with the ArmSoar 1806 powertrain, offering a lightweight, low-drag solution that complements the glider’s aerodynamic design.

Would like to report that I received my new Frsky X20RS yesterday and after a bit of learning curve and lots of help from Steve ( at Frsky, USA) I got the Medina dialed in with a TW GR6 receiver. Went for a maiden this afternoon, 0-2mph winds so no ballast in wings, put a nickel( 5gms) in the nose and she flew perfectly . Get some altitude and she floats so smooth with graceful turns in the thermals. My first time flying V tail but I’m gonna have some fun with this I’m sure. BTW, 450mah 3s is more than enough power with a 10×6 prop. Once I get more practice with airbrake I think I can bring it right in to me.
Thanks Marcus for all your help and a great sailplane!
